BIOGRAPHY
A
native of Portland, Maine, Bill grew up
listening to the classic rock offered
by WBLM radio out of nearby Lewiston.
After seeing his first concert (Alice
Cooper with Faster Pussycat and Ace Freeley),
he soon realized his true calling
Entertaining.
Bill
began his professional career while still
in high school as a drummer for local
rock band, Boxcar. Throughout high school
he played drums, guitar, & bass in
a list of garage bands--gigging in nightclubs
and bars before he was of legal age to
be there!
Upon
graduating high school, Bill moved to
Canada and taught guitar before attending
college. There he studied sound engineering
and radio broadcasting. He then returned
to Portland in 1993, where he soon became
a local legend playing bass guitar. Since
then, he has continued to play non-stop
while consistently improving his craft
and learning new skills along the way.
Although
rock is Bill's specialty, he's not afraid
to dabble into other genres; he has been
known to play with jazz, country, funk,
and reggae musicians as well as several
"jam bands." In addition to
being a seasoned musician, Bill is also
a veteran of the road, touring New England
and the Midwest to share the bill with
such bands as Train, Nazareth, and Jackl.
In
2001, Bill moved to Florida to focus on
his original work. He is the sole writer
and creative force behind Soul Kitty,
a very special and personal project; and
he is currently finishing up a solo album
due out very soon. Recently, Bill has
been spotted playing around the Ft. Myers
area sitting in with acts like Smackdaddy,
the Half Baked Cookies, and the Killer
Kona Buds under the widely recognized
surname of Billy Nuggets.
