Our
mission is to promote musicians of all
genres with a focus on live performance
and musical craftsmanship. Our goal is
to seamlessly combine the cutting-edge
trends of today with tested industry standards
to maximize exposure for every performer.
At Red Tide Records we believe that the
best way to build a loyal following is
through live performances. That is why
we are dedicated to promoting live shows
for all signed artists. With our sister
company, Half Baked Productions, we also
organize festivals, music showcases, and
CD release parties. Artists on our label
have their own web-page with photos, show
dates, music samples, email and just about
anything else they would like to post.
Red
Tide Records is mainly the brainchild
of Bill Berry, who has always wanted to
start his own recording studio geared
towards the local musician. Bill himself
has been a professional musician on several
local scenes in New England, Canada and
Florida. He also received a degree in
Sound Engineering from the New England
School of Broadcasting. Amanda K. Stark
received a Bachelor's degree in English
Literature from Florida State University
in 1999 and has been working as an event
coordinator since 2002. Amanda acts as
the talent and road manager, booking agent,
and heads Red Tide's sister company-Half
Baked Productions.
The
initial seed of conception for Red Tide
Records began with a meeting of two strangers
on the internet-one a writer and events
coordinator, the other a professional
musician. From early on, Bill and Amanda
saw something special and an untapped
resource of potential in each other. However,
when Bill approached Amanda several times
about becoming his manager, she continuously
denied or ignored his tenacious requests
for nearly three years. Finally, after
playing witness to some real musical magic
and watching Bill struggle to keep a variety
of bands together-some with solid musical
chops, some hacks, some with gigs, some
with nothing more than hours upon hours
of fruitless practice-she relented…and
Red Tide Records was born.
Our
primary focus is to get bands heard.
We host festivals, book clubs and simply
promote musicians and acts of all kinds.
